Biometrics provide a strong, unique identifier that is difficult to forge or steal – in contrast to passwords, which are much more vulnerable. For many users, biometric authentication can be faster and more convenient than traditional methods like passwords or security questions.
In turn, advanced authentication adds additional context to that biometric login. That context can include information we gather from a user’s login behavior like time of day, the machine they are logging in from and the browser they are using. Advanced authentication is much more context-aware and capable of dynamically responding to security risks.
When we combine advanced authentication with biometrics, we get a more complete and much more robust authentication system.
